Standing Committees
Membership Committee
The Membership Committee is responsible for recruiting new members and for creating programs to encourage guest attendance at Chamber events. We are currently in the process of spearheading a membership recruitment drive, and intend to implement several of these a year. We maintain the membership applications, follow up on prospective members, and encourage new memberships in a variety of ways. We are always looking for members to help us in expanding our membership base, and welcome new ways to do this.
Membership Benefits Committee
The Membership Benefits Committee sole purpose is to ensure that all members have a meaningful chamber membership once they join. It is the committee's job to welcome new members, and to ensure that their initial needs of membership are met. We are responsible for creating and distributing new member packets, coordinating ribbon cuttings and open houses, etc. We are also in the process of creating an ambassador program in the community, and at Chamber events. New benefits are constantly reviewed and suggestions are always welcome! We are looking to expand our committee to help with new member orientations and making new members feel welcome.
Outreach Committee
The purpose of the Outreach Committee is to reach out to the less fortunate in Northwest Austin. We decide together as a group which cause will best show our generosity and kindness while helping to better an individual's quality of life. In the past three years, we have collected hundreds of toys for the Brown Santa program. We also began a school supply drive last fall - we helped over 30 students obtain school supplies and paid for 22 school gym uniforms for a local NW middle school. Our committee needs volunteers who like to help the Community and like to make a difference! Please contact us if you are interested.
Public Relations Committee
The Public Relations Committee is responsible for providing information to various media sources in the Community to promote Chamber events and build awareness for our organization. The committee acts as a liaison between the Chamber and media outlets for the distribution of information about the Chamber. We create press releases and maintain an updated media contact list, and are always looking for new ways to promote Chamber membership and events thru the media. Serving on the Public Relations committee is a great way to network with key media personnel and businesses in the community at large.
Communications Committee
The Communications Committee is responsible for all member communications. Our responsibilities include sending out email notices of upcoming events to all members, and guest attendees. We also maintain the Chamber's website, and are in the process of implementing several new tools to highlight member benefits, for example, publishing a monthly e-newsletter and creating a "member in the spotlight" page on our website. Volunteers who like to write, or are familiar with web design and graphics would be most appreciated.
Luncheon Committee
The Luncheon Committee is responsible for planning and coordinating the monthly membership luncheons. Our tasks include recruiting and contacting speakers, set up and registration, greeting members and guest, and emceeing. Serving on this committee will provide you with maximum potential to network with every single attendee! You'll get the chance to introduce yourself to everyone that walks through the door.
Networking Committee
The Networking Committee is responsible for planning and producing membership networking events. The events shall provide networking opportunities for members and prospective members. Currently, the Committee handles Networking Nights, our informal evening get-togethers on Tuesday nights. Similar to the Luncheon Committee, we handle set up, registration and greetings of guest and members. If you enjoy meeting new people in an informal setting, leading one of our Network Nites functions is for you!
Business Development Committee
The Business Development Committee is responsible for planning and producing programs that provide educational opportunities to members with the focus on business development. At the current time, we do not have a chairman for this committee. This is a great opportunity for one of our members who has a penchant for education, and who would enjoy creating dynamic programming opportunities for fellow Chamber members.

You Can Help!
The Chamber is always seeking volunteers for its Standing Committees. Currently, we have a particular need to fill the following leadership positions.
Web Master: This person is responsible for keeping our Web site current. Our Web site host, Levelfield, provides easy tools that anyone can use, so you don't have to be a computer expert to qualify. What is more important is commitment and a good eye for style. Contact Chair-Elect Steve Bray for more information.
Newsletter Editor: The Editor is responsible for interviewing the Member Spotlight winner each month and organizing the newsletter articles. We use Levelfield's tools to create and distribute the newsletter, so you don't need any special skills to qualify for this position. This position is a great opportunity to get to know your fellow members before everyone else does and can be a fun way to start a conversation with them. Contact Claudia Machell for more information.
