Top Realty Services

How long have you been in business?

20 years.

And in Austin?

Since 1986. We moved here from Bryan, Texas. We have actually lived in over 39 homes, which means I have moved over 39 times in my 42 years of marriage.  Hopefully, we have moved our last time, but you never know!  I was born Shreveport, LA.

What does your business do?

We are a synergistic company. We offer mortgages, financial planning, insurance, and, of course, real estate. As a real estate company, we also offer our clients investment services and property management. We are a one-stop resource for all your real estate needs!

What do others NOT know about you or your business that you would like to share?

Close to my heart is working with single moms. They have such a struggle with managing home, work and children. I am involved with the Community Outreach Ministry at our church, Hill Country Bible Church. Our church is hosting on Saturday, October 20th “free oil change”  for all single moms. If you know of any moms please ask them to call me. I am also a director for the Texas Association of Realtors. I would also like to mention that on the first Saturday in Dec., Top Realty Services is having a “Home for the Holidays,” a buyers' and sellers' Fair at Lakeline Mall. We’d love for everyone to come out!  Joy Davis, a Top Realty Services agent and up and coming country and western singer, will be highlighted.

Have you or your business received any awards or special accomplishments?

I received the Omega Tau Rho service award. It is a National Association of Realtors award for outstanding service in the real estate industry.

If you could give advice to those who are just starting their careers, what would you say?

If it has to do with business, then I would make sure you have a passion for what you want to do.

What is the best advice you’ve ever received?

To have a balance in your life, especially if you are self-employed. And that balance would be spiritual…family...personal…and community, which I have adopted as my philosophy in business.

So what is your favorite recreation?

Watching TV. No, actually, we live at the lake, and it is like being on vacation every day. I love water sports: boating, swimming, knee boarding, and skiing.

So what would you be doing if you didn’t have the job you have now?

Traveling! We used to live overseas and I’ve have had the opportunity and privilege to visit over 49 countries, many of these have been mission trips, which I love. My favorite places are Hawaii and Italy. I’d love to take a Mediterranean cruise.

Anything else you’d like to share?

I’ve been a Dallas Cowboy fan since 1964.

Do you notice anything different in the calendar above? You now can pay for Chamber events on our Web site!

While I hope you appreciate the added convenience, the Chamber is going to enjoy the added predictability. The Board took this step because we have had difficulty predicting turnout at events, which costs the Chamber money. The online reservation system tells us who is attending in time to change plans if reservations don't meet expectations.

The one downside to this convenience is starting in 2008 we no longer will accept credit cards "at the door" of our events. Checks and cash still will work for last minute attendees.

Also, please note that if you make a reservation, we're counting on you showing up. If you fail to attend, we cannot refund your reservation.

This took a lot of hard work by the Board, and I want to thank Sunny (our Treasurer) in particular for his diligence in seeing this through.

Welcome!
